Why doesnt my file count on my device exactly match the file count on my ElephantDrive account

If you perform a folder/file count using your OS's file count utility (Windows, MAC, Linux, or NAS), it would indeed be slightly different than the folder/file count performed with ElephantDriver application. 

That is because the local folder/file count could include hidden OS related files which are not part of ElephantDriver backup. 

For example, on Mac OS, folders could contain a hidden file called .DS_Store. This is a special file that stores information about it's containing folder. It has no user data and does not back it up, which causes the slight discrepancy in file count.
