1. Important: First visit https://kb.synology.com/en-global/DSM/tutorial/What_kind_of_CPU_does_my_NAS_have to look up your device model and match it to the "package arch" column which will help identify which download link to use below. Please download and save the package locally, then proceed to the next steps.

2. Access your Synology device via your favorite browser.
3. Navigate to the Package Center on your Synology and uninstall the current version of ElephantDrive (if no version is installed, skip this step).
4. In the Package Center, select Manual Install.
5. Clicking Manual Install will open a dialog for you to browse for the update package you downloaded (from step 1).
6. Upload the update package and install ElephantDrive.
7. Important: Follow the steps outlined in this article to give the necessary permissions to the ElephantDrive application. This step is mandatory to ensure your device can communicate with ElephantDrive to enable backups.
8. Reboot your Synology.
9. Navigate to the ElephantDrive app and click the configure button to log back into the ElephantDrive application.
