Understanding the Different Storage Tiers Available with ElephantDrive

ElephantDrive offers 3 different storage tiers: Hot Storage, Cold Storage, and Ice Storage. 

Each storage tier will affect the speed at which you can retrieve your data.

• Hot Storage: Your data is available for download/restore in real-time, i.e. as soon as a request to download or restore is received, the data is returned to the requester.

• Cold Storage: Your data is kept chilled and is only available after reheating, i.e. as soon as a request to download or restore is received, a reheating process begins and once complete the data is returned to the requester.

• Ice Storage: Your data is kept frozen and is only available after defrosting, i.e. as soon as a request to download or restore is received, a defrosting process begins and once complete the data is returned to the requester.
